German People
German people are very prideful in their culture. German culture began long time before the rise of Germany. Germany is often known as das Land der Dichter und Denker (the land of poets and thinkers) due to its rich culture and history. 64 percent of the total population belongs to the Christian denominations out of which 31 percent are Roman Catholic and 33 percent are affiliated with Protestantism. The German people are well known for their brilliance and logical approach towards any problem. Germany, over the centuries, has produced a great number of diplomats, geniuses and notable people. Some of the great German people are listed below.
Famous German People
- Oskar Schlemmer: Oskar Schlemmer was one of the best German painters, sculptors and choreographers associated with the Bauhaus school. At the age of 31 Schlemmer turned to sculpture and he had an exhibition of his work at the Gallery Der Sturm located at the capital city.
- Albert Einstein: Albert Einstein was an extraordinary German-born physicist who is well known for his theory of general relativity, bringing out a revolution in physics. For this achievement of him, Einstein is regarded as the father of modern physics and one of the best scientists in human history. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his services to theoretical physics and especially for The Photoelectric Effect.

- Adolf Hitler: Adolf Hitleris not compelled to any sort of introduction. Hitler is well known for his central leadership role in the rise of fascism in Europe and the World War II. He was the leader of the renowned Nazi Party and also served as the Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945.
- Otto von Bismarck: Otto von Bismarck was a 19th century statesman and a dominant figure in world affairs. He was the one who oversaw the unification of Germany. In 1867 Bismarck became the Chancellor of the North German Confederation. The German Empire was designed by him in 1871. He become its first Chancellor and dominated its affairs completely. His powerful rule gained him the nickname the “Iron Chancellor” and “The man of blood and iron’’.
German people has proved themselves as renowned inventors and engineers, such as Johannes Gutenberg, who invented the movable type printing press in Europe and Konrad Zuse, who is credited as the inventor the first computer. German industrialists such as Diesel, Otto, Wankel, Von Braun, Benz, Zeppelin and Daimler, helped a lot in shaping modern automotive and air transportation technology which includes the beginning of space travel.
In the field of music, many German people have proven themselves as the best classical composers of the world including Bach, Beethoven and Mozart who marked the beginning of transition between the Classical and the Romantic eras in the Western classical music.
Germany is home to some of the finest academic institutions all over Europe. University of Tubingen, University of Gottingen, University of Berlin, Mining Academy Freiberg and Freiburg University are just to name a few. Around 1970s German people have once again had been part of a thriving popular culture which is now increasingly being led by its capital Berlin and the city of Hamburg together with a self-confident music and art scene. Germany is also very well known for its many renowned opera houses, such as Semperoper and Komische Oper Berlin.
German people are the real food lovers.
The Cuisine differs greatly according to the regions, like in the north people eat fish, in Bavaria roasted pork is consumed a lot, in spring people love to eat white asparagus, in fall people consume green cabbages with sausage and mustard and for the Christmas German people eat goose or duck with red cabbages, dumplings and a special kind of brown gravy.
